Air, Noise & Carbon

Air

Managing air emissions is a legal requirement for Australian industry. Our air quality team helps clients meet these legal responsibilities.

Air quality management can present complex challenges throughout all stages of a project lifecycle, requiring in-depth knowledge of process and environmental engineering as well as meteorology, chemistry, mathematics, biological sciences and IT.

Our growing team includes some of Australia’s leading environmental engineers and scientists. We specialise in measuring, modelling, assessing and managing air quality impacts. We are known as leaders and innovators in the field, having developed many practices and technologies that are now applied as standard practice in Australia.

Our dedicated Research & Development team ensures that we remain at the forefront of the field, able to provide clients with the best possible advice. We are regularly sought for the most complex, high-profile engagements and regularly win projects that other consultants are unable to complete.

Our senior engineers and scientists often act as expert witnesses in legal engagements and provide advice to regulators on the development of air quality regulation. They have contributed to some landmark emissions reporting and management programs such as the National Pollutant Inventory and Load based Licensing.

We are proud to have served many of the world’s leading businesses as our clients for many years.

Noise

Since its formation, PAEHolmes has been providing specialist advice on noise related issues. Our environmental noise and acoustics specialists have notable experience in assessing and managing the noise and vibration issues for a variety of industries, transport systems and other infrastructure.

Our consultants have expertise in background noise monitoring, noise impact assessment, acoustic design, noise management plans, occupational noise and developing noise mitigation and reduction strategies. As our consultants are at the forefront of what they do, they are regularly asked to present at training courses, workshops and seminars and often act as expert witnesses in court proceedings.

We are fortunate to have some of Australia’s leading practitioners in this area and are confident of providing the best advice when it comes to noise related issues.

Carbon

Early movers in the area of corporate social responsibility, concerned about their impact on global greenhouse emissions, started estimating carbon footprints decades ago. Some businesses also recognised that monitoring carbon, as a key indicator for energy efficiency, could help drive productivity gains throughout the business. As human-induced climate change became accepted, compulsory reporting, such as Australia’s National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting (NGER) framework, became widespread.

PAEHolmes has been working in the field of reporting and managing carbon emissions long before the advent compulsory reporting of greenhouse emissions in Australia. Our team of process engineers understand the fundamentals of the processes leading to greenhouse emissions, specialising in complex industries, particularly in the mining, resources and oil and gas sectors. We frequently engage with regulators on behalf of our clients. Combined with our experience in the development of management systems, we are ideally suited to verification or auditing roles. For those that require automated solutions, our Technology group has developed the EnviroSuite emissions reporting module, which is capable of producing real-time estimates of greenhouse emissions, as well as meeting all corporate and regulatory requirements.
