Non-Executive Chairman - Dr Merv Jones

Merv is a chemical engineer who has close to 40 years experience in the air pollution field, including research, engineering studies, consultancy, management and enforcement. He is widely regarded as one of the most experienced air quality consultants in New Zealand and Australia. In 2005 and 2007 he was recognised by Engineers Australia as one of Australia’s 100 most influential engineers.

Merv also has wide experience as a senior executive with a successful leadership track record of growth and profitability in Australia, New Zealand and Asia. His most recent full-time executive position was for seven years as the Asia Pacific Managing Director of URS Corporation, one of the largest engineering design and environmental companies in the world. Merv has extensive experience in development and management of organic business growth in the Asia Pacific region, as well as acquisition experience in both Australia and China.

Non-Executive Director - Darren Herft, B Bus Acc

Darren is Executive Chairman of Pacfic Environment Limited (PEL). A successful professional service consultant in his own right, Darren brings to the business over 15 years' experience consulting to chartered and CPA accounting firms, as well as other professional service businesses. He has developed resources and systems to improve productivity and workflow management to help his clients build revenue and boost profitability.

Darren is a founder of PEL and was appointed as an Executive Director at incorporation. He has overseen the company’s move into environment technology and has  been engaged as a business consultant with Pacific Air & Environment (PAE) since 2002. During this time, he has helped the company improve its operational results and define its long-term strategy.

Darren is also the founder and executive director of  GPL Financial Services Pty Ltd and GPL Professional Network Pty Ltd (GPL Group).

Non-Executive Director - Geoff Masters  

Geoff has been involved in the information technology sector for the past 23 years. Prior to joining Pacific Environment Limited, Geoff was Managing Director and Vice President of Altiris Asia Pacific. During this time, he was responsible for the dramatic growth of the NASDAQ - listed Altiris Inc throughout the Asia Pacific region. This included establishing and growing operations in countries such as Singapore, China, Japan, India, Australia and New Zealand. For part of his time with Altiris Inc, Geoff was based in Tokyo, Japan.

Geoff has also been Managing Director and Vice President of Sterling Software Development Asia Pacific, General Manager of Computer Associates Australia, General Manager of Tandem Computers Australia, Director of the Australian Computer Foundation, and Chairman of TAB Limited’s Information Technology Advisory Council. Geoff has also conducted advisory work to Siemens Business Services and Mission Australia.

Geoff has a proven track record of senior leadership in highly competitive markets, working in roles that have required the ability to grow a business through technology, services, integration and acquisition.

Executive Director - Robin Ormerod

Mr Ormerod is recognised as one of the leading pioneers in air quality consulting in Australia and New Zealand.

For the past 30 years he has been providing sound scientific advice to both industrial and public sector clients in air quality, climate and meteorology.

Mr Ormerod co-founded Pacific Air & Environment in 1995, itself the foundation business for PEL.

Company Secretary/Alternate Director - John Lemon

John is a qualfied lawyer and is the company secretary and legal advisor for a number of ASX and AIM-listed companies, as well as for several unlisted public and private companies. He was previously a solicitor with Clayton Utz Solicitors, where he worked in the firm's commercial litigation and corporate and commercial departments. He has also worked as an in-house lawyer and/or company secretary for several large Australian and international companies.

In recent years John has specialised in assisting small to medium sized companies that are either listed on a major stock exchange, or looking to do so. John is a director of Union Resources Limited which is listed both on the ASX and AIM.
