Ecotoxicologists

Toxikos was formed to provide independent excellence in toxicology and health risk assessment for risk management decision making. Toxikos staff have provided toxicology and regulatory affairs services for over ten years to clients in a wide range of industries and government. Toxikos is an experienced applied research organisation and has a strong track record of producing scientifically defensible and robust human health risk assessments and providing expert toxicology advice and chemical reviews.

Toxikos is looking for environmental toxicologists to join our Melbourne team.

To be a successful candidate for this challenging role, you will ideally have the following:

  • 3+ years relevant experience. This may include both academia and government; however experience within a consulting environment is highly desirable.
  • Ability to cooperate within a team and project based work environment.
  • Demonstrable ability to produce high quality work in the field of ecotoxicology.
  • Highly developed written and communication skills.
  • Good quality, relevant (e.g. toxicology / ecotoxicology / environmental biology) post-graduate qualifications.
  • Ability to interpret environmental data and its relevance to the potential for impacts on the environment.
  • Ability to identify and characterise Valued Ecosystem Components as they pertain to a variety of potential exposure scenarios.
  • Demonstrable continuous education in the fields of environmental toxicology / interpretation of toxicological data.
  • Track record in publishing papers within respected journals and membership of national and/or international relevant professional societies is desirable.
